Finnish Lapphund

Helsinki, 5 degrees

A little bit of magic before Christmas

Last year my mom's dog that we had for over ten years had to be put down. I thought my mother would never get another dog, but last week she surprised everyone by getting a Finnish Lapphund. And I must say, seeing this cute creature, my heart melted. Nevertheless, I'll never forget the dog my mom had before this one. Golden Retriever Molly was a jewel. I prefer not to compare them, but just think about the right now and "live in the moment".

The dog breed Finnish Lapphund is a hardy, easy going, medium-size breed. Traditionally it has been used for herding reindeers in Lapland, therefore we chose a Lappish name for her. She's going to be called Taika (in English :magic). Although it is one of the most popular dog breeds in its native country, Finland, it is not very numerous outside of the Nordic countries. Have you seen such a breed in your country?

Taika is 3-months-old and a very calm, yet curious little dog. So soft, so cute!

What's your opinion?
