Perhaps home is not a place but simply an irrevocable condition.

Terrazzo - Mosaiikkibetoni

Concrete was the material that ruled Pinterest in 2015, but this year it's time for another hard substance, with flecks of glass or minerals that add texture and color! How beautiful! In Helsinki, terrazzo can be seen in a very public place - in the compass in the floow next to the escalators taking you to the underground from the Central Railway Station!

Dusty blue - Tomuinen sininen

Dark blue is so last year, whereas the light and less dramatic dusty blue is oh, so this year! It's both earthy & approachable - me like! Finnish Iittala's shade of turquoise reminds me of this shade.

Tummansininen on menneen talven lumia, kun vaaleampi ja vähemmän dramaattinen tomuinen sininen on täällä! Maanläheinen väri on helposti lähestyttävä - peukku sille! Mielestäni kotimaisen Iittalan turkoosi muistuttaa paljon tätä sävyä.

Linen wall hangings - Pellavaseinäkoristeet - ja ryijyt

Textile and fiber wall hangings have been popular for years, but now they are embroided and made out of linen! Effortlessly chic! When it comes to linen works, Finnish Lapuan Kankurit is the best if you ask me!

Korimaisista tekijöistä mielestäni Lapuan Kankurit on ylitse muiden mitä tulee pellavaan materiaalina.

Dyed sheepskins - Värjätyt lampaantaljat

Black & white sheepskins are everywhere these days as they bring warmth & texture to any home. This year, however, colors are added by dying skins. Refreshing & fun!

What home decor and interior purchases are you making for your home this year? How do you look for inspiration for your home?

Mitä sisustusostoksia suunnittelet kodillesi tämän vuoden aikana? Miten etsit koti-inspiraatiota?

What's your opinion?

  1. I always enjoy those interior posts from you. by the way, my mom brought us those Ikea magazines from Finland a couple of weeks ago and those include some pretty cool ideas for our new wardrobe. we completely took down the old one! and when it comes to inspiration it can come from anywhere around me - internet, magazines, others' homes, building stores, you name it! I don't follow any trends but it's interesting to see which ones are out there.

    1. Thanks, I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the post :) Ikea magazines from Finland? Don't you have Ikea in Estonia? Ikea is Swedish but they have taken over the world by now...

    1. I think plain & simple means something completely different in the States than in the Noridcs - it would be fun to know what you mean :)
