The ones that have read my blog for a long time know that already since 2013, I've been obsessed with finding the perfect book bag and/or book clutch. Needless to say, when I heard that there was a Moomin version available - I immediately knew that I had found the perfect one for me. I would go as far as to say that this is a true Moomin fan must-buy: what better way is there to show off your  Moomin fandom than this?

On sanomattakin selvää, että kun kuulin, että Muumi -kirjalaukkuja on olemassa, niin tiesin heti - tämä olisi täydellinen kirjalaukku juuri minulle. Menisin jopa niin pitkälle, että sanoisin tämän olevan jokaisen muumifanin pakko-ostos: miten voisi paremmin tuoda esille faniuttaan kuin kirjalaukun kautta?

Being a fan of book bag and clutches is one thing, but everyone that knows me well knows that at some point they will end up talking about the Moomins with me. My love for the world of Moomins and their creator Tove Jansson is, in fact, endless! More about the Moomins on the blog here.

According to me, the Moomins are timeless - an endless source of inspiration, always relevant and never out of fashion. However, this year, they are extremely important to have in mind! Why you might ask. Well, they are turning 75 years this year! Can you believe it? That is why I will strive to especially this year write about them as much as possible! As during the 100th anniversary year of Tove Jansson back in 2014, also this year has a lot of interesting events and happenings going on! I actually think it's impossible to miss the Moomins this year, because there is so much buzz around them, and I will do my best to make the buzz even louder! Hold on to your hat, and enjoy the ride!

Mielestäni muumit ovat ajattomia - toimivat jatkuvina inspiraation lähteinä, ovat aina ajankohtaisia eivätkä koskaan mene pois muodista. Tänä vuonna heitä pitää kuitenkin erityisen paljon huomioida. Miksi? Koska täyttävät 75 vuotta! Voitko uskoa? Näin ollen pyrin tämän vuoden aikana heistä kirjoittamaan mahdollisimman paljon! Kuten Toven juhlavuonna 2014, myös tänä vuonna tapahtuu paljon muumeihin liittyvää! Mielestäni on jopa mahdotonta välttää muumit, koska heidän ympärillä on niin paljon pöhinää ja yritän parhaani mukaan lisätä sitä! Pidä siis kiinni hatustasi, ja nauti muumimaailmasta!

To name a few highlights of this year:
-the 2nd season of the extremely popular TV show Moominvalley will air (in Finland already in March),
-there will be a midsummer event named Midsummer Madness taking place in Helsinki that is strongly linked to the Moomins (in fact there is a Moomin book with the exact same name!),
-the National Museum of Finland will host a Moomin-themed exhibition this summer (from May 15) named Courage, freedom, love! The Moomins 75,
-on Tove Jansson's birthday on August 9, a 2-month-long pop-up event named Tovefest will open in Helsinki and continue to celebrate her until finally in September, on September 25, the first movie about this fascinating artist will have its premiere,
-to mark the 75th anniversary of the Moomins Moomin Characters Ltd has launched the #OURSEA campaign in collaboration with the John Nurminen Foundation to help raise funds to save the Baltic Sea and its vibrant culture. The goal is to collect one million euros for John Nurminen Foundation’s work to save the Baltic Sea and its cultural heritage for future generations!

Vain muutamia mainitakseni, tässä joitakin tämän vuoden kohokohtia:

-huippusuositun Muumilaakso -tv-sarjan 2. tuotantokausi starttaa jo maaliskuussa

-Helsingissä on kesällä Midsummer Madness -niminen juhannusjuhla

-Suomen Kansallismuseossa Helsingissä on muumiaiheinen kesänäyttely (15.5. alkaen) nimeltään Rohkeus, Rakkaus, Vapaus! Muumit 75

-Toven syntymäpäivänä 9. päivä elokuuta starttaa kaksikuukautinen pop up -tapahtuma Helsingin Keskuskadulla nimeltään Tovefest. Tapahtuma huipentuu Tove -elokuvan ensi-iltaan 25.9.!

-Itämeren asiaa näkyväksi tuodakseen Moomin Characters on yhteistyössä John Nurmisen Säätiön kanssa rakentanut Muumien 75-vuotisjuhlavuoden 2020 ajaksi vuoden kestävän #MEIDÄNMERI -kampanjan. Kampanjan avulla levitetään tietoa erilaisista keinoista auttaa Itämerta sekä kerätään miljoona euroa John Nurmisen Säätiön työhön, jonka tarkoituksena on puhdistaa ja suojella Itämerta sekä sen ainutlaatuista kulttuuriperintöä.

When collaborating with Moomin.com again, I was given the chance to pick out one item from its online shop. I knew straight away that the stunning Moomin Book Bag by Disaster Designs that you can see in this blog post was my choice. I have introduced an earlier Moomin fan must-buy in this blog post. The design of the bag is based on the book: The World of Moominvalley, which I naturally also have from before. The bag is made from high-quality PVC with a poly-cotton lining. I love that it has a zip and magnetic closure, with zipped inside pocket. It also has an adjustable, detachable shoulder strap and wrist strap. I prefer to wear crossbody bags, and this one is perfect for that use!
