The perfect white Nordic play kitchen: Swedish Kid's Concept

You might remember my earlier blog posts about building the perfect toddler play kitchen for my toddler girl. If not, you'll find them here. For some time now, my toddler girl has been increasingly interested in role-play, play food & cooking. We decided around Christmas that we thought it was too early to introduce her own kitchen nook, but since Christmas, we have been gathering pieces for a nook that was introduced when she had her second birthday in June.

Päätimme joulun aikaan, että mielestämme silloin oli liian aikaista hankkia hänelle oma leikkikeittiö, mutta joulun jälkeen aloimme etsimään hänelle ruoanlaittotarvikkeita leikkikeittiötä varten. Piknikkori toimi leikkikeittiönä kunnes löysimme täydellisen keittiön juuri meidän kotia ja taaperoa ajatellen. Leikkikeittiö ilmestyi meille tyttäremme 2-vuotis syntymäpäivänä kesäkuussa.

So for about two months now, she has had her own little kitchen, in addition to the picnic basket that we gave her earlier with kitchen goodies. When we have chosen the pieces that go into her basket, and the entire kitchen, we have tried to emphasize wooden & fabric items - but of course it's impossible not to have any plastic pieces. However, we have given thought to the fact that they're a minority in the basket and kitchen in general.

Joten nyt n. kahden kuukauden ajan, tyttärelläni on ollut piknikkorin lisäksi myös leikkikeittö, jossa on leikkikeittiövälineitä. Kun olemme valinneet korin ja keittiön sisällön, niin olemme tietoisesti yrittäneet vältellä muovisia leluja. Olemme pyrkineet valitsemaan puisia ja kankaisia leikkiruokia, mutta toki korissa ja keittiössä on joitain muovisia osia. Suurin osa on kuitenkin juuri puusta tai tekstiileistä tehty.

We decided to get our daughter the white play kitchen by Swedish Kid's Concept, via Adlibris. Kid’s Concept was founded in 2007 with a passion for creating products with the intent that ”children should be children”. To help simplify life around the children and give them the opportunity for a safe and playful childhood, to spread joy and encourage more play for all children. The office, showroom, and warehouse are located in Viared outside of Borås, only 60 kilometers from Gothenburg, Sweden. What we love the most about this kitchen is that it is mostly wooden, has a lot of wonderful accessories and its classic white style goes hand in hand with the rest of our interior at home.

Päätimme hankkia tyttärellemme valkoisen leikkikeittiön ruotsalaiselta Kid's Conceptilta, Adlibriksen kautta. Kyseinen yritys perustettiin vuonna 2007 intohimosta lasten tuotteita kohtaan. Tuotteet ovat leikkimielisiä, mutta myös turvallisia. Kid's Conceptin toimisto, näyttelytila ja varasto sijaitsevat Boråsissa, Ruotsissa. Pidämme erityisesti keittiön materiaaleista, eli keittiö on suurimmaksi osaksi tehty puusta. Sen kanssa tuli myös ihastuttava sarja tarvikkeita, ja ihastuimme keittiön klassiseen ilmeeseen, joka käy käsi kädessä meidän kodin muun sisustuksen kanssa.
