Fleuriste

Helsinki, -1 degrees

Love flows like flowers, and grows like water.

As Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and we're celebrating one of the most delicious pastry filled seasons in Helsinki with both Runeberg tortes and Shrovetide buns, I thought it would be nice to introduce a local café named Fleuriste. I recommend the café for coffee & cake among friends, but it's also a perfect place for a romantic date! I actually went there for a photoshoot for Finnish airline company Finnair's in-flight magazine Blue Wings before Christmas, and I wanted to share the result of that morning of shooting with you in this blog post. In the end, the photos didn't make into the magazine because of their setting (it didn't showcase Helsinki enough and the photos were too big for the article itself), but you can find my complete interview on page 44. The interview introduced my main work project of this year: the #HelsinkiSecret Residence, which is meant for international social influencers. I'll fill you in on that project in a later blog post. The beautiful photos were taken by the talented Laura Iisalo.

Kuvat ottivat lahjakas kuvaaja Laura Iisalo

Do you have a favorite café? What makes it your favorite?

Onko sinulla omaa suosikkikahvilaa? Mikä tekee juuri siitä kahvilasta erityisen?

What's your opinion?

  1. I've never been a coffee drinker, so I spend very little time in cafes. My wife will usually want something expensive every now and then, so we'll get it to-go usually at Starbucks

    1. But there is so much more you can enjoy in a café besides coffee! They are just so cozy, don't you think?

  2. I think I don't have a favourite cafe (I don't drink coffee, I haven't even tried it). my hometown doesn't have any special cafes/eateries, only places I don't visit because they're not exciting to me. oh, we actually have one nice cafe 30 km from us, it's called "cafe O" :) very nice photos by the way, such a shame they didn't make it to the magazine.
ps. I wrote you through Facebook but am not sure if you got my message :)
