Eluceat omnibus lux - let the light shine out from all.
There are only a few things that can inspire over 600 000 locals and visitors alike to head outdoors in Helsinki during five days of -10--25 degrees, and one of them is the annual light festival Lux Helsinki! You might remember the event for my previous blog posts, if not - see them here, here and here. As one of my colleagues was the main producer & coordinator of the event, I had the pleasure to watch how it was being planned for more than six months. So you can just imagine how happy I was for her when I heard that the event this year set a new record concerning its amount of visitors! I think the reason for the event's huge success could be found in small things: the city itself - Helsinki - as the venue, the new and clear route, the street food supply, the music, social media, the new artwork and so on. However, I believe the true reason is just one: light. The positive impact of light. Because humans evolved under the light, it is not surprising that there are many positive effects of light on human health.
On olemassa vain pari asiaa, joka saa yli 600 000 paikallista ja matkailijaa lähtemään ulkoilmaan -10--25-asteisessa Helsingissä, ja yksi niistä on vuosittainen valofestivaali Lux Helsinki! Muistat varmasti tapahtuman aikaisemmista blogikirjoituksistani, mutta löydät ne muistin virkistykseksi myös täältä, täältä ja täältä. Koska yksi kollegoistani toimi tapahtuman päätuottajana ja -koordinaattorina, pystyin seuraamaan tapahtuman suunnitteluvaihetta yli kuusi kuukautta. Voit arvata miten iloinen olin kollegani puolesta, kun kuulin että tapahtumalla oli tänä vuonna ennätysmäärä kävijöitä! Uskon, että moni asia vaikutti tähän: itse kaupunki - Helsinki tapahtumapaikkana, uusi & selkeä reitti, uusi katuruokatarjonta, musiikki, sosiaalinen media, uudet valotaideteokset ym. Suurin syy suosioon on mielestäni kuitenkin valo. Vaikuttava valo. Valon positiivinen vaikutus.
