Layers

Helsinki, 5 degrees

If we’re wrapping ourselves up to conceal any vulnerability, whatever happens to us has to go through all those extra layers.

As we're already in the latter part of October, the weather in Helsinki has shown some signs of late autumn with windy and rainy weather. Soon the leaves will all have fallen from the trees, and the ground will start waiting for winter to arrive. On Thursday something slightly white was falling from the sky, and some called it the first snow, even though it, in my opinion, was too light and small to be called that. However, it did remind us of the upcoming season change. Now I'm waiting for Halloween, or All Saints' Day as we call it here, as it's the time of thrilling ghost walks here in Helsinki. One is waiting for me already next week...creepy!

For me, late autumn is all about layers and layering, and I was happy to notice this week when strolling around town that they really come to handy when it's chilly outside but warm inside. Nordic Style Mag has a great article about Nordic layering, have a look here if you're interested! I also in love with all fluffy things right now. This week, I was pampered by Finnish design company Pulu Design that offered me a beautiful Alemoa bracelet with a stainless steel watchband, brass finding, and natural Quartz Point! It's stunning! I love mixing it with the rest of my silver and rose gold arm candy!

Itse ranneke on ruostumatonta terästä. Se on upea! Olen yhdistänyt tätä uutta rannekorua muihin hopeisiin ja ruusukultaisiin rannekoruihini.

Pulu stands in Finnish for a city pigeon. The person behind the scenes in pulu is Marjo Haikonen. She is an industrial designer who originally founded pulu to sell products designed by young designers. Pulu is almost like a child to Marjo as it's very Marjo-looking and follows her wherever she goes. In 2013 pulu hit the road and moved to Malmö in Sweden. However, pulu will continue its flight as a webshop and participating in different design fairs! One of my favorite pink and grey look this week was created around the bracelet. I've been happy to see that pastel color coats are continuing their way also this fall, as seen here in Glitter Guide, because I'm in love with my two pink jackets!

  3. I think I tend to prefer earrings and scarves over everything else when it comes to accessories. because necklaces and bracelets would be hidden under the layers anyway :) oh and those pastel coats are so pretty! maybe one day I will have one in my own wardrobe. you're lucky to already have two ;) and I looove your bracelets!!! and the top you're wearing is really pretty too.
