Happiness jar

I'll have to calm down a bit. Or else I'll burst with happiness.

I recently read an article that introduced me to a lovely idea of keeping a happiness jar. Have you heard of a Happiness Jar? According to the article, it's an idea started by Elizabeth Gilbert (the author of e.g. Eat, Pray, Love). There even a Facebook page called Happiness by the Jar. The idea is that you write the happiest moment of each day down and stick it in a jar. At the end of the year, you can look back and enjoy all the happy memories. I'm now hunting for the perfect jar to start our Happiness Jar for 2014. Who else is in? Do you know any good places to find a beautiful jar?

Luin hiljattain Voicen artikkelin "Tee vuodesta parempi ja säilö hyvät hetket - katso ohjeet Onnellisuuspurkin tekoon", joka kertoo hauskasta ilmiöstä. Ilmiö on saanut vastikään alkunsa kirjailija Elizabeth Gilbertistä.

This Christmas I got an early Christmas gift when I won Nespresso's Umilk coffee machine on the Finnish blog Dinner 4U2! Thank you Dinner 4U2! The ones of you who follow me on Instagram have already seen some of the photos of this blog post, but I thought this piece of good news was something I wanted to share with all of my blog readers. The coffee machine comes in black and white, but I chose a white one because I thought that it went better with our otherwise white kitchen.

Tänä jouluna sain yhden joululahjan jo ennakkoon kun voitin Dinner 4U2 -blogin kautta Nespresson Umilk -kahvikoneen! Kiitos Dinner 4U2! Lisää kilpailusta voit lukea täältä. Ne teistä, jotka seuraavat minua Instagramissa, olette jo kenties nähneet joitakin tämän blogikirjoituksen kuvista. Tästä huolimatta, halusin jakaa tämän ilouutisen teidän kanssa! Valitsin valkoisen kahvikoneen koska mielestäni se sopii parhaiten meidän vaalean keittiöön.

Those of you who remember that I stopped drinking coffee, don't be alarmed. I'm still not drinking coffee every day, it's just a random delight for me nowadays!

Jotkut teistä ehkä muistavat, että lopetin kahvinjuonnin jonkun aikaa sitten. En vieläkään juo kahvia päivittäin, vaan se on minulle harvinainen herkku!

What new routines are you starting this year?

Mitä uusia rutiineja sinulle on tälle vuodelle?

What's your opinion?

  1. Oh that is such a great idea! I definitely think I will have to give this a go :)

  2. The Happiness Jar idea may indeed work! I think I have seen some really cute jars at Ikea last year, but they should always have some there.
What is your favourite kind of coffee at the moment? I'm not a huge fan of it, but sometimes it's nice to have a cup of coffee with some whipped cream on.
As regards new routines, I think I'd like to become more like a morning person this year. And of course I would like to write regularly in a blog again!

Have a good start of the week :)

    1. Good idea, I should pay a visit to Ikea. It's been far too long since the last time :)
I always drink espresso, single or double, no milk. But of course a cappuccino is delicious as well, I just don't think it's that healthy on a regular basis.
Your new routines sound very good! I hope you'll stick to them!

  6. this jar thingy is pretty trendy here in Estonia. pretty much every other blogger talks about those jars and I think one even sold a jar but a full jar that was already filled with those tiny writings. so I know it exists but to be honest with you I'm not that crazy about it because I know I would probably be too lazy to read the notes after 12 months :P when it comes to finding the perfect jar I guess you could check Stockmann for example. I'm sure they have plenty of options there :)

    1. Really? Here I haven't heard anyone talk about it :) I love being nostalgic, also with photos..
I try not to visit Stockmann that often, we have so many other great stores with personal service, but maybe I should for the jar, you're right.
