Jacquard skirt

Helsinki, 18 degrees

We all have our own life to pursue, our own kind of dream to be weaving. And we all have the power to make wishes come true, as long as we keep believing.

Despite the fact that fall has reached Helsinki, we've been experiencing exceptionally warm weather; reaching about 20 degrees during the day. This has made it possible for me to continue wearing skirts without tights! Yey! Those of you who know me well, know that I hate all kinds of socks, haha. I guess it's because I got used to walking barefoot as a child. This week has been all about preparations. Next week I'm going on two business trips so there's a lot of planning to do ahead! I'll fill you in on those trips later on. This week I've been inspired by jacquard weaved clothing as I've bought a jacquard weave skirt this fall.

The skirt I've bought is from H&M. I love how this skirt has a leather waistband! I've combined it to black and white tops and jackets for work, but during my free time I've used it with a jeans shirt. Effortlessly chic!

Even though I've bought a black and white jacquard skirt, I've also been obsessing about colorful versions of weaved clothing and accessories. I've been happy to notice that the collections for spring / summer 2014 also include jacquard patterns.

New York based Suno introduced beautiful jacquard patterns nicknamed "Luxe African-inspired glamour" in its spring/summer collection. See the whole collection here.

My jacquard outfit was completed with curly hair and my white Jet Set Addiction wrist watch that I wrote about in an earlier blog post here.

How do you feel about jacquard patterns? Do you have any exciting weekend plans?

What's your opinion?

  1. Aha...Love things jute and they are environment friendly. Love that sweater (Jacquard), is awesome and the pants and boots under brocade. They are just awesome. Ugh!!! I want it now...ahahaha...I wish i had some extra money for shopping this month. Nice collections.

  8. to be honest I didn't even know about this term "jacquard" :P I guess I'm not very trendy then, hehe. but it's always a pleasure to learn and that's why I enjoy your thorough blog posts about patterns, trends and other things.
anyway, I think it's a great and classic outfit and I like your hair style and of course the watch. oh and when it comes to the weekend then I'm in Tartu right now because my father-in-law turned 50 and we had a party yesterday. they also got a puppy and I should definitely take some photos before we go back to Jõgeva.
