I'm so excited to be writing again. This week has been once again so super busy that it has felt like time has been slipping through my fingers. Now that I'm so to say back in the saddle, I'm thrilled. My inspiration this week has definitely been people. I've had the chance to meet such great, inspiring, supporting, challenging and interesting people this week!

I guess it will take some time, even weeks for me to process all that I have been through this week! I've been experiencing new places, tastes and even smells with international guests, but in addition I've got to know new colleagues and I've had the pleasure of participating in an interview for a master thesis that one of my acquaintances is doing concerning social media. What a week!

I already told you something about my weekend so I'll focus in this blog post to tell you about my actual week. In the beginning of the week, I got to meet a journalist and an international colleague over dinner at restaurant Nokka. Nokka is such an amazing Finnish restaurant, set in a former storage building so the milieu is priceless! It was fun to be able to speak Italian for a whole evening, I thoroughly enjoyed it! Even more so since these two Italians were from Milan, my former hometown. Milan will always have a special place in my heart, I carry it with me wherever I go. Funny how former places one has lived in does that, don't you think?

I was also excited about visiting Nokka again on another day this week for the release of this year's HelsinkiMenu. The release was interesting because it gathered food actors from whole Helsinki to one place.

For those of you who don't know what the HelsinkiMenu is, here's a short description: Helsinki’s varied restaurant scene offers Scandinavian trends and a wide range of ingredients from all over Finland. The classic HelsinkiMenu restaurants serve fish from the thousand lakes, berries, mushrooms and game from the forests, as well as special produce from small farms. HelsinkiMenu gathers the characteristics of the whole of Finland into one city.

This year we have 16 restaurants serving the HelsinkiMenu! You can find a list of them here. The winner of this year's HelsinkiMenu was actually a surprise since the restaurant isn't located in the city center, but it's definitely worth a visit, both for its food and setting!

Yesterday I was offered the possibility to participate in an interview concerning blogs and blogging in Finland and social media in general. I'll tell you more about it when I can reveal more about whose master thesis it contributed in. I was excited about the chance to talk about a topic I love so much, and as you probably can guess, I had no problems in making the time pass by talking about blogging. In fact, it seems to be a topic I can't get enough of, haha. Do you feel the same? How much to do think about blogging as a phenomenon?

I also attended an opening event for some theme weeks in a local restaurant yesterday. That was fun since again I got to make some new contacts there.

Overall one can say that this week has been widely educating for me. I love meeting new people. I think getting to know new people can be very healthy sometimes when one gets stuck in routines. Fresh thoughts always leave me with a fresh mind. What a motivation kick!

Finally yesterday I also got to see my sister's wedding place. As I've told you, her "I do" day is in the beginning in February so the date is closing up on us. The place where she will get married is absolutely breathtaking! I'll fill you in about all the details about the wedding, and my preparations concerning it, during the end of this month!

What have you been up to this week?

What's your opinion?

  1. she doesn't have much longer to go till her big day

  2. Kuulostaapa vauhdikkaalta, ja ihanalta! ^^ Etenkin tuo blogi-haastattelu vaikuttaa mielenkiintoiselta. :)

Oi siskosi häät ovatkin jo ihan nurkan takana! Nopeastipa aika on kulunut, ihan kuin olisin vasta äskettäin kuullut hääsuunnitelmista ^^

    Mukavaa loppuviikkoa!

  7. this week has been all about WORK, work and only work.. nothing else. or actually my evenings have also contained some workout while watching my favourite tv shows (recently I discovered 90210 for myself).
anyway, your week sounds like a crazy one too. so many different events and challenges! and of course - good food, hehe. btw, when it comes to your question about blogging I have to say I really enjoy blogging when I have the necessary time in my hands. and I would love to blog more often than only once a week but I just don't have the time. and I'm a perfectionist which means every post has to be perfect in my eyes. it's pretty hard, hehe. all in all I think it's better to blog only once a week and work hard with it but not blog every day and with mistakes and stuff like that. that's my opinion about it.
