Last fling before the ring - Buy my sis a shot she's tying the knot

As we in Helsinki hit -20 last weekend, this girl fell ill. Now recuperating from a flu, this week week has been tough but interesting and eventful. Last weekend was all about my sis' bachelorette party! Unfortunately I couldn't tell you beforehand about it, because it would have spoiled the surprise. But let me show you what her bachelorette party was all about!

We had a Mad Men/50's theme for the party and all of us attending wore dots. It worked out perfectly and I think we had a marvellous day that we'll all remember for life!

We started out at a café called Bulevardin kahvisalonki where we surprised my sis over a champgne brunch. Since I had been working at the Nordic Travel Fair on Thursday and Friday, it was only natural that my sis thought that I would be working there also during the weekend, as I have done so for many years already. Needless to say the surprise was perfect and this girl shedded a tear.

From the café we catched a bus and headed for the Cable Factory, a former factory building, now turned into museums, cafés, studios and theaters. Our destination was the studio of burlesque artist Bettie Blackheart! Bettie guided us to a workshop focused  on hair decorations, make up, hairdos and posing! Bettie's studio was a girly girl's heaven with tons of girly stuff: jewelry, make up, costumes - you name it! My sis loved it and she was turned into a beautiful red dressed vamp at Bettie's!

The rest of the day was spent having in-between drinks at legendary restaurant bar Ilves, seeing a hilarious stand up gig at Lilla Teatern, enjoying food & drinks at texmex restaurant Cantina West and ending up at our apartment for a pyjamas party!

Man, did we have fun! With bittersweet feelings, I was thrilled over how well the day went and all the planning paid off! Have you ever joined a bachelorette party? What would you like for yours?

What's your opinion?

  1. Hi dear, so sorry to hear you're not feeling well, get better soon! Wow, this party rocks, love the cute theme and everything looks splendid!

  2. no I haven't, to be honest. and actually I feel like I don't need one too.. I'm just not interested in stuff like that and I don't want a big fairytale wedding. the smaller the better :) but that's me and I respect all other opinions too.
your sister's party looks like a really fabulous one btw and I like the fact that you did something classy and exciting not something strange and stupid like I have seen in Estonia where girls run around dressed like you know who.. I just don't get it and it's ridiculous in my eyes.
