Preparations for a sister's wedding

Helsinki, -7 degrees

Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.

Besides fighting against the flu this week, I also had the pleasure to continue the preparations for my sis' wedding. On Wednesday, I had an appointment at my hairdresser at Kaipaamo and I got to try my hairdo for the wedding! Since my sister has wanted to keep the wedding very down to earth, using as much natural material as possible for e.g. the decoration, I tried to find pictures of hairdos what were simple but beautiful, keeping in mind that all us bridesmaids will have a floral crown on the wedding day. So it had to be a beautiful low bun, but something that looked like I maybe could have done it myself (even though in reality it is far from it). These four photos functioned as my hairdo inspiration for the test hairdo.

And the result looked like this... (don't mind the rest of my outfit, this is not what I will wear on the wedding day and in these photos I have close to none makeup whatsoever).

I must say I was pleased with the result, I love how my hairdresser managed to bring out the different shades of color that I have in my hair right now. I know it will look great with the floral headband and my outfit for the big day next Saturday. I can't believe it's in less than a week!?

What do you think about the hairdo?

What's your opinion?

  1. looks lovely and has this boho vibe going on. I'm sure some flowers will make it even more awesome! I definitely like it, especially that braid :)
btw, when it comes to those parties we were talking about I just feel like I don't need it and I have always known that. it's the same thing with big weddings - simply not my scene. and honestly I don't envy those big fancy parties, long dresses, heaps of guests etc. it can be strange but it's true :)
