Pink & the personal assessment tool DiSC

Let her sleep for when she wakes, she will move mountains.

These last two weeks at work have meant schooling - something I'm always really excited about since I love learning new things and improving the skills I already have! I joined a schooling day focused on social media last week and this week like I mentioned in my last post, I've got to know better our neighboring city's tourism products. In addition to this, today we got acquainted with DiSC, the leading personal assessment tool used by more than 40 million people to improve work productivity, teamwork and communication. This got me thinking about increasing self-knowledge, something I associate with pink color since it has a positive energy.

According to Crystal cure, the quality of energy in pink is determined by how much red is present. White is the potential for fullness while red helps you to achieve that potential. Pink combines these energies. Shades of deep pink, such as magenta, are effective in neutralizing disorder and violence. Some prisons use limited deep pink tones to diffuse aggressive behavior. Pink provides feelings of caring, tenderness, self-worth and love, acceptance. Perfect for schooling if you ask me! That's why I chose a pink outfit last week for one of my schooling days.

I got the dress from the Finnish version of Ebay, Huuto.

I'm also in love with the new watch I got as a present from my boyfriend, Jet Set's pink watch, that goes wonderfully together with my pink dress!

To get back to the DiSC assessment, I wanted to point out some of its positive features.

Thanks to DiSC you:
  • Increase your self-knowledge: how you respond to conflict, what motivates you, what causes you stress and how you solve problems
  • Learn how to adapt your own style to get along better with others
  • Foster constructive and creative group interactions
  • Facilitate better teamwork and minimize team conflict
  • Develop stronger sales skills by identifying and responding to customer styles
  • Manage more effectively by understanding the dispositions and priorities of employees and team members
Have you tried it?

I turned out to be an I style person, which came as no surprise to me. I recognized myself at several points while reading through the description of this style. I thought it would be nice to share with you, my dear blog readers, some insight in what kind of a person I am.

People with the I style place an emphasis on shaping the environment by influencing or persuading others.

A person with an I style:
  • is motivated by social recognition, group activities and relationships
  • prioritizes taking action, collaboration, and expressing enthusiasm
  • is described as convincing, magnetic, enthusiastic, warm, trusting and optimistic
  • may be limited by being impulsive and disorganized and lacking follow-throughs.
  • may fear the loss of influence, disapproval and being ignored
  • values coaching and counseling, freedom of expression and democratic relationships

When communicating with the i style individual, share your experiences, allow the i style person time to ask questions and talk themselves, focus on the positives, avoid overloading them with details, and don't interrupt them.

I think tests like this are fun since they do increase our self-knowledge. I personally think one only gets better at his/her job if he/she knows himself/herself. How well do you feel you know yourself?

What's your opinion?

  1. Thanks for all this beautiful pink inspiration, it really made my day of studying so much better! The learning and assessments sounds really productive, its always good to increase our knowledge! Love your choice of dress, its the loveliest print!

  2. I think I know myself quite well but am definitely learning something new almost every day and like you said, learning and finding out new things is super important.
now, when it comes to pink I must say it's "my colour" too and actually my loved ones always refer to me when they see something cute and pink, hehe. your dress is absolutely gorgeous (love the pattern and the shades!) btw and so is the new watch.
