Christmas spirit

Helsinki, 3 degrees

If I’m honest I have to tell you I still read fairy-tales and I like them best of all.

As many of you readers probably know, Finland is the home country of the Christmas spirit - Santa Claus. This fact raises its head from time to time until finally when the time comes to await Christmas during November and December, it becomes inevitable. Therefore despite the fact that we don't have snow on the ground yet (although it has snowed a couple of times already in Helsinki, but until now the snow has melted away as quickly as it has hit the ground), Christmas is creeping up on every Finn already.

This week I've received some new Christmas decorations for our new home so our home is already starting to look Christmassy. We've decided that this time Christmas will be in white and silver rather than the traditional red. I'll show you some parts of the decorations in later posts but to get you into the Christmas mood, I thought it would be nice to share with you this stunning editorial I found called "Happily ever after...free people fairy tale" since I think it captures perfectly the spirit of waiting for Christmas. Check out Free People's catalog here.

but am I waiting for Christmas already? I do like Christmas and the overall feeling and vibe but I'm not waiting like crazy. I like it when it comes slowly. this year my family is coming to our place which means I and my fiance will arrange everything. we must finish the dining and living room before everything though.
    what about your Christmas?

As tradition says, I'll spend my Christmas at my mom's place here in Helsinki. She lives some five kilometers from me so it's not a long way :)
