Live life fully while you're here. Experience everything. Take care of yourself and your friends. Have fun, be crazy, be weird. Go out and screw up! You're going to anyway, so you might as well enjoy the process. Take the opportunity to learn from your mistakes: find the cause of your problem and eliminate it. Don't try to be perfect; just be an excellent example of being human.

To continue my post from yesterday, I would like to present the three bars in the Helsinkian district called Kallio where we took the bloggers for a pub crawl during their weekend stay here in Helsinki.

Siltanen is set in a stunning red brick building and has a wonderful terrace summertime. In the evenings this bar offers cool DJ led party nights. The interior of the place is simple, but I love the industrial / comfortable look the place has. The music is usually so good that it's difficult to stay seated while being at Siltanen.

Baari baari, on the other hand, is a much smaller bar, known for having one of the best wine selections in Kallio. The bar hosts everything from DJ lead night to drag shows - the sky is the limit!

The third bar we visited was Sävel, a nostalgic bar with photos of well known Finnish actors and singers. I love the nostalgic photographs and posters that are an essential part of the interior of this place!

What kind of bars do you like? What is more important - the interior or music of the place?

What's your opinion?

  1. They look great! I like bars that have lots of seating, a bustling energy and good music. Good energy and music is more important to me than the interior.

  2. I love the urban, slightly gritty look of these pubs! But I have to admit, as much as I can be attracted to a particular atmosphere, the most important thing to me is the music... if a pub runs a playlist I don't enjoy, that's the surest way to get me out the door. Beautiful photos!

  3. I'm not a bar person, to be honest since we don't have bars in my hometown and I don't feel like I want to drive somewhere to visit one.
I like experiencing different restaurants though, trying delicious food, sometimes drinking cold beer. that's my cup of tea.

    1. Don't you like cocktails? I like a cold beer now and then, especially with some lime, but usually I prefer cocktails :)
