Lace

Helsinki, 11 degrees

Lace - the invention of a goddess and the occupation of a queen.

This superbly sunny Saturday has meant getting to know our new residential area by taking walks in the sun admiring the autumn colors, arranging things in our new home and getting a new header for my blog! Isn't it stunning? The header is designed by Akiko of Style Imported. I can't thank you enough Akiko for this beautiful header!

It still feels so exciting to have a new home, and as each day passes, it keeps on getting better since it gets closer to its final form. Don't get me wrong, there is still a lot to do, but due to the fact that my boyfriend is still recuparating, we're taking it slow.

The last couple of days I've been inspired by lace, which isn't maybe any clothing novelty since it's been a trend already for over a year, but it's fun to notice that this fall, the trend continues to take new forms.

Elle Finland had a great photo issue some time ago where it presented how lace looks on the streets of Helsinki. I immediately knew when I saw these photos that I wanted to share these photos with you as I am sure that the lace trend looks different in each city of the world!

One of my latest purchase, through the Finnish version of Ebay called Huuto, is this baby red / pink lace dress. I love the innocence of it! What is your favorite piece of clothing with lace?

What are your weekend plans?

What's your opinion?

  1. thank you for the eyeliner recommendation! I'll check it out if I see some Isadora stuff in the near future. but today I ordered one from Oriflame.
now, when it comes to lace I'm a huge fan and your new dress looks just perfect. the back is especially pretty. but I don't have one favourite lace piece. I like all of them.. tops, dresses, shorts etc.
ps. looking forward to your new home photos!
oh and about Christmas vacation! this year it's extra long and I love it!!

  5. Hi sweetheart, thanks so much for all the online shopping advice! I really appreciate it. LOVE your new blog header, its very sweet and charming, much like you. It was so interesting to view all these different takes on lace, I do prefer lace worn in a more feminine fashion, like on the lovely pink dress you purchased.
