Helsinki, 1 degree
Lately I've been thinking a lot about expectations, growing up and disappointments. Yesterday I had a great discussion with my mom about these things and came to the conclusion that once we get older, we inescapably encounter disappointments as our expectations are too high and reality doesn't add up to our expectations. Even though I usually think that everybody else has everything better figured out than me, I sometimes notice that I have revised things better than others. Those are so called aha moments which I cherish. My mom gave me the best advise I've got in a while: one should try to turn around one's disappointments into victories. Learn more about yourself by refelcting on your disappointments, and use that knowledge to make sure that when a similar situation occurs, you won't be disappointed anymore.
Today I dared to put on my trench coat for the first time this spring. At the office though I noticed that maybe it wasn't such a good choice since Helsinki had such contradictory weather today. We have sunshine in the morning, snow mixed with rain during the day, but when it was time to go home, the weather had become serene, almost poetic. I mean, have a look at this stunning photo!
In the beginning of March I stumbled upon a fashion trend that got me thinking about how far fashion can go. Have you heard about Emilio Cavalli's mantyhoses? In the age of boyfriend jeans and general metrosexual clothing, I guess one shouldn't be surprised that female clothing trends end up wandering over to the male side..
But hold on..before judging these images straight off, have a look at these photos where mantyhoses are used as a part of complete looks...
...like this, they don't jump out as much. What do you now think about the fashion accessory?
Hi dear, I like what you've written about turning disappointments into victories, wise advice (which I really need to follow ;)
ReplyDeleteI loved all the pantyhose on the female model, especially the star print one. But no so much for guys, I think some under garments should be sacred just for woman.
Haha yes maybe you're right. I think it's nice that some people test boundries though, fashion and trends are something one needs to play with. Style shouldn't be taken too seriously if you ask me :)
